People are always in a rush and there is no more rush than when someone decides to get in shape.
They change their food, start exercising and want results, now! But the results don’t happen overnight and I hear, “Devin this isn’t working!”
Actually it is… You just need patience!
Look you didn’t get out of shape in three weeks. It took time, usually several months or even years to get to the place you are. So if it took that long to get out of shape why are we so convinced we can get back in shape in three weeks?
Fitness takes time and energy. You will need to look at it as long-term. Expect that you won’t see changes until at least a month. Others will notice before you do too!
In that first month you will feel better, you will have more energy, but you won’t look completely different. Just give it time, relax and let the process work!
I tell client’s all the time to give it a full eight weeks before they start making decisions on what is working and what isn’t. Trust me by the end of those eight weeks they can see differences in their clothes and on the scale. That’s when it becomes easier because you can see and feel the changes and you enjoy how things are getting better!
So please just give exercise and clean eating time. Remember this isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. Slow down and you will get there faster.
