My name is Kim Conrod and I am beginning my weight loss journey, again!
I reached my goal approximately four years ago. I lost 65 pounds and had skin removal surgery; I was the happiest I had been in a long time! When you hear the phrase familiar places and familiar faces, I’m sure many of you think of a favorite restaurant or vacation spot and best friends and family members.
For me, the familiar place is a dark one where I am standing on a scale and seeing numbers I have seen before and swore I would never see again. Familiar faces are the ones staring back at me in the mirror, the ones in pictures that have filled out so much that they are unrecognizable!
I instantly ask myself “How did I get back here? How could I possibly let myself get like this again?” The reality is losing weight is hard and keeping it off is even harder! A great trainer once told me, “If this was easy, I wouldn’t have a job”.
That is so true! Losing the weight the last time was very hard but I underestimated how challenging it would be to keep it off. Regardless of the fact that I have gained back a large portion of the weight I lost, I am back. I knew that in order to successfully get away from the familiar places and familiar faces, I had to get back to the other familiar places and familiar faces that helped me achieve success before. I turned to my favorite trainer of all time, Devin Sherrington at my favorite gym of all time – 360fit.
I have tried a number of things over the past couple years to get back to where I was, but the accountability wasn’t there. Devin is such a motivator and knows what I am capable of. I am excited to be back on this journey to a healthier lifestyle. I am excited to get back to the happier version of me where the familiar places and faces aren’t so scary. I am looking forward to sharing my journey with all of you so that you can see that yes, it is hard, but it CAN and WILL be done! #ProjectKim
